About me as a nanny
Hi, I'm Becky Plourde. I've worked in professional childcare since I was fifteen years old. I've been a nanny for four amazing families since I left group childcare seven years ago, and now I'm excited to meet my next family.
While I prefer the the individualized attention I can give to both children and families as a nanny, I've spent enough time in group childcare settings to be completely comfortable working with multiple infants. So don't worry if you have twins or triplets, or if you're considering a nanny share with another family.
As far as outings go, the sky is the limit. I'm happy to take your little one outside as long as the weather permits, and we'll walk around the neighborhood and find the local attractions. As your child gets older, I'm happy to take day trips to local museums, zoos, or different infant classes like music and gym. I don't have my own car at the moment, but I plan to get one within a few months of employment. I'm a very safe driver and I'm comfortable transporting your children wherever they need to go.
When we're in the home, I spend a lot of time on the floor with infants, singing, reading, and talking to them. I do a lot of tummy time with younger infants, and I love helping older infants achieve various motor developments. I can help get infants sleeping in their cribs, and I can get them on a schedule appropriate for their age.
I'm comfortable handling breast milk or formula, and I'll help you introduce your infants to baby food and then to solids once they're ready. I can help with transitions from bottles to sippy cups, from pacifiers to no pacifiers, from multiple naps to single naps, etc. I'm always happy to answer questions about your child's development, and if I don't know something, I'm happy to look it up.
I always want you to feel comfortable talking to me about your child. If you want to try something new, if you're concerned about developmental stages, or if you just want me to send more pictures during the day, please feel free to tell me! I understand how important this time is, and I want to do everything I can to make it amazing for everyone.
I have current certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED, and I hold both a BA and two graduate degrees.

About me as a live-in
I've been a live-in nanny twice before, and I pride myself on being easy to live with. When I'm off-duty, I'll most often be in my room, either reading, writing, sleeping, or watching TV. I've never been described as loud by anyone I've ever lived with. I enjoy being able to interact with the families I work for, and I'm happy to share meals, but I'm also perfectly happy to leave you to your family time and eat in my own space.
About my cat
This is Fiyero.
He's a 5-year-old neutered, indoor cat. He and I are a package deal. He gets along well with children, dogs, and other cats. That said, I'm happy to keep him confined to my own living area if need be.
If you like animals but don't have the time to get a pet of your own, Fiyero's great. His food and litter stays in my room, but he's a fun cat to have around.
